About The Publication:

“The Home Forum is a venue for upbeat first-person essays of 600 to 800 words. We seek a wide range of experiences and voices. The most successful essays are ones of self-discovery, insight, and progress. No medical themes, please, and nothing overtly religious. This is not an OpEd venue, I am not looking for mere travelogues, nostalgia, parenting, or nature essays, but travel, nostalgia, nature, and parenting themes must be in service to broader, more universal ones.” Pays on publication. Publishes ms 3-8 weeks after acceptance. Buys 90 day exclusive rights, nonexclusive thereafter. No reprints. Responds in 3-4 weeks. Guidelines online.

Pays $250/article of 600-800 words.

“Heed what is stated above: upbeat, no medical themes. This is not an OpEd venue. I’m looking for essays with something to say, not mere description, nostalgia, travelogues, or biography. An essay is a journey; it has to have movement and change – and, ideally, the ending should “chime” with the beginning in some way. Read the sample essays in the contributor guidelines mentioned above.”
