I have always loved writing. Even as a little girl, I knew that I wanted to be a writer. At the time, I knew that writers were people like Stephen King and Judy Blume, so I equated being a writer with writing novels. When I tell people today that I’m a freelance writer, they assume that I write novels or magazine articles (the latter of which I do occasionally), so when I mention that most of what I do is ghost-blogging, I usually need to follow up with an explanation.
There are literally hundreds of paying horror markets in the form of ezines, magazines, anthologies, and periodicals, all scrambling for the best available material.
In my developmental years as an entrepreneur, I’ve been duped a time or two – in various ways and means. And, I’ve mastered a few valuable lessons along the way. To shorten your learning curve, I offer the following caveats…

Sure, others have tried to use the same strategy, such as Mili Vanilli and numerous politicians, but it is not quite the same thing. Ghostwriting is actually a means by which an expert in a field or a well-known personality tells his or her story through the crafted words of a professional writer. The difference, however, from a collaboration, is that for marketing reasons, and/or egotistical reasons, the writer simply remains invisible.
