This week’s issue will be very, VERY abbreviated.
On Monday morning, 08/28/2017, at about 7:30 a.m., the Hoy’s daughter, Ali, began having contractions. She and her husband, Justin, went to the hospital while Angela and Richard notified me by text. By noon, Angela and Richard had joined the excited couple at Ali’s bedside and labor was in full swing!
Well, I’d like to say that everything went swimmingly, and that little Jack popped out like a spring chicken. But, the Hoys never do things the easy way, and Ali’s labor went on until around 2:29 a.m. the next morning. Little Jack had a big head (it runs in the family) and he refused to come into the world the traditional way so off to surgery they went.
Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of pain management, vitals checks, feeding lessons, more vitals checks, etc. Everyone is operating on very little sleep – including the Hoys. But it’s looking like Ali and Justin will be headed home today with little Jack.
What a lucky kid! How many newborns get their own Internet article? 😉

An adorable baby.
But don’t count on that curly hair staying there. Sometimes, what you see at birth is just a ‘fooler’ and will morph into — well, who-knows-what later on.
