Are You Tired Of My Whining Yet?

After being diagnosed with diverticulosis and diverticulitis, I was feeling pretty good last week – once the antibiotics were gone and I was off the steroids. On Saturday, we went out for Chinese food. I ate very mild stuff – seafood, white rice, a few bites of eggdrop soup, and half an eggroll (that was probably my mistake). That night, I got very ill. Sunday morning, I was better. Sunday afternoon, I was just fine. I was feeling so good that I went shopping and then cooked a large meal for the family (since Richard’s been doing all the work around here lately). On Monday morning, I had a full-blown attack – severe abdominal cramps, blood, everything I’d experienced when I was really, really sick. It was awful.

I’m back on antibiotics again. They switched one and doubled the dose of the other. While I was only eating bland food before, now I’m on a clear liquid diet for 10 days. Richard’s scrambling to make sure I get at least 2,000 calories each day since I’m still nursing Mason. My vegetable broth only has 15 calories a cup. Jello? About 100. Juice seems to be the winner with lots of calories and Richard has been making fresh veggie and fruit juice for me with our juicer. I lost another 2 lbs. over the weekend – 16 lbs. total since I got sick. I’m gonna be drinking a LOT of juice for the next 10 days!

I’m starting to wonder if my entire future is going to be cheese, crackers, and jello. We were going to spend time at our land this week but that’s out now. I’m in bed until the worst has passed. Thank goodness I have my trusty laptop to keep my mind off my gut.

Whine, whine, WHINE!!! I know. I’m tired of hearing myself, too! 🙁

This Week’s Maxism:
Smell me! I smell like Grampa!

Hugs to all!
