Another Diverticulitis Attack And…

How dumb am I? Here I’ve been whining about the daily, annoying pain I’ve been experiencing in my colon for the past five weeks, all the while forgetting what the original attacks felt like. On Sunday night, I got a reminder! Without getting too graphic (ha ha), around 11:00 p.m. I got a funny, bloated feeling, which turned to an annoying pain, which then turned into fire daggers being shoved through my, errr, innards. I took a double dose of Metamucil and Richard grabbed the heating pad for me. That seemed to do the trick and I was good as new the next morning, thank goodness. I’ve been very, very good. I didn’t eat any seeds or nuts and I have no idea what set off the attack. I will never again whine about the daily pain I’m experiencing because it’s peanuts (pun intended) compared to an actual attack. Many readers wrote it to say it would take weeks or months to feel like myself again after the infection I had.

The good news is we’re going to spend a couple of days at our land in Western Maine this week. I’m looking forward to that! Richard will be putting a roof on the shed and we’re shopping for an affordable composting toilet. Hey, it’s cheaper than digging a septic system! Richard is also planning to rig a gravity-fed water system for our “bathhouse.” I just want to clear some paths through the forest so we can get to more of those blackberries and raspberries! I can’t eat them anymore but I bet I can make them into jelly that I CAN eat!

This Week’s Maxism:
“Your breath smells like chocolate.”

Hugs to all!

Angela
