Last week’s article, When Editors Get Lazy, brought in numerous emails from writers who recognized those naughty publications that seem to forget who they’re supposed to be serving.

This week, I want to bring your attention to a stellar publisher who, despite his popularity and fame, always makes times for his readers and for other publishers and editors as well.

Case in point: This morning, I received an email from a reader who complained that 982Press was running ads on yet another writing job board. I recognized the board immediately and emailed, Craig Newmark, owner of the well-known craigslist. Within an hour, he emailed me back to say he’d removed all their postings from his website.

Now, that, my friends, is a publisher who is concerned about his readers! If all the job boards were as concerned about running quality ads (and not running ads from companies that charge writers money) we’d all be much better off.
