Wedding Cake Assistant for a Day = High Blood Pressure!

Our daughter, Ali, is a pastry chef. She had a wedding cake job this week and the entire family pitched in. In the final hours, our kitchen looked like one of those crazy Food TV reality shows. The guys were frantically cutting dowels and painting. Ali was working with the stencils. I was doing detail work…against my will! I was so nervous!! What if I messed up one of the lines?! What if I bumped into one of the layers? What if some of the chocolate got on the fondant?! My blood pressure was through the roof and it took over an hour for my heart to stop pounding after they left for the wedding. I am so glad I didn’t go into the culinary arts industry! Ali handles stress soooo much better.

We have good friends in town this week from Wisconsin. They are enjoying our weather in the low 80s because it was snowing at their house this morning. However, a cold front is heading our way and it’s only going to be in the 60s tomorrow. Perfect for a bundled-up day at the beach!

This week’s Masonism:

“When a predator eats us, they can taste calcium!”
