Frank (age 21) is in school, and wants to be a surgeon. He’s been on the Dean’s List since his first semester of college (he works very hard), is a waiter, and recently applied to volunteer at one of the local hospitals. On his first day at the hospital this week, he was offered a paying, part-time job in the surgery department! They’re also going to pair him with a surgeon to shadow.
He can’t quit his waiter job because the pay is really good and he’s saving money for med school. He also must keep volunteering because that’s a requirement for med school. So, he now has school, two jobs, and a volunteer position. Needless to say, I don’t think we’ll be seeing much of Frank for the next few years.
The good news is he’s getting a crash course in working doctor’s hours! We are so proud of him. 🙂
This Week’s Masonism:
Closing his eyes at bedtime, Mason asked, “Mom, when I close my eyes, am I looking at my brain?”
I replied, “No. You’re looking at the inside of your eyelids.”
He said, “”Then how can I see things in my head?”
