We made it to Florida…four days early! After all the mechanical problems we had in the RV last week, we decided to get down as here as soon as we could, driving many more hours per day than we originally planned. We arrived at our “new” home on Friday (we’re renting while we figure out which city we want to buy a home in) and WE LOVE IT!!!
It’s a very quiet neighborhood and our next door neighbors, John and Prue, already came by with fresh fruit and cookies. Yea! Best of all, they have grandchildren that are the same ages as Mason, Max and Frank!
Five things I love most about our new home:
- The pool and canal!
- There are HUGE armadillos.
- The sunsets are amazing!
- Huge, booming thunderstorms almost every afternoon.
- There are air conditioning vents in the closets! Cool!!
Five things that make us nervous about our new home:
- Alligators
- Wild hogs
- Panthers
- Mosquitoes
- Poisonous Frogs
I am trying desperately to get caught up on my work since the move pushed me so far behind. I’ll try to post more details next week, along with pictures.
I have a Maxism for you this week.
There has been a lot of rain here the past couple of weeks and the mosquito population is QUITE impressive. Despite spraying the kids down, they are still getting bit when they go outside. When I saw Max (age 9) counting his mosquito bites this afternoon, I said, “You must taste really good.”
He replied, “That’s because I had pizza for lunch.”
Hugs to all!
