For Christmas, Richard bought me a green fishing light for the backyard. Now, after dark, we can see a variety of beautiful fish and other marine critters under the water. Every night, there’s something different or new.
A couple of weeks ago, a snook came by. We noticed him again the next night, and the next. He was a pretty good size, and was happily feeding on bait fish. The next day, I saw him here during the daylight hours, too.
I told Richard that we should get some live shrimp, and try to catch him for dinner. (Yes, we have licenses.) But, then, Mason named him Snookie. Since he now has a name, we can’t eat him. We haven’t had a pet fish in more than a decade. The good thing about Snookie is we never have to clean his tank!
THIS WEEK’S MASONISM
While I was sitting in bed with my laptop one night this week, Mason walked in, and yelled, “Mom! Please put on your lifejacket, and make your way to the deck!”
