I was hoping things would slow down in January but they haven’t. Usually, after the holidays, Richard and I try to have a month of down-time. However, this year that didn’t happen. Looking at our calendar for January, I noticed yesterday why I’ve felt so frazzled. There’s hardly any white space left!
Friends of ours laugh at our calendar. It’s a real, printed one and it’s hanging in the bathroom…right next to the toilet. I know that sounds weird but it’s really hard to forget appointments when they’re staring you in the face several times a day. For example, a few minutes ago I remembered that Orkin is coming on Friday and that I need to get 1099s mailed out by the end of the week.
This morning, Richard was reminded that he’s cooking dinner here today for a sick friend of ours, and delivering that this evening.
My mom taught me that trick when I was just a child. And, it works!

We have a calendar in the bathroom and in the kitchen. We still manage to forget appointments…
Ha! I have had a calendar hanging next to the toilet for years. So did my dad. Actually, I have a calendar, an Emory board, a Chapstick tube, and a box of tissue in each room!
