Richard’s dad came to visit for the weekend from Texas and we all had a grand time! Max cried and cried when he left and we were so sad for him. It was pretty chilly all weekend with false threats of snow being flung by our whacky weatherman (he really is a pretty whacky fellow, quite bizarre, but we like him). Grandpa kept saying he was cold, even sitting in the living room with the heater turned up (and the rest of us sweating). He wasn’t here long enough to get acclimated to our weather. We, on the other hand, don’t really think it’s terribly, unbearably cold until it gets below zero here.
Since we took most of the weekend off, including Monday for a trip to the children’s museum (including a stop at the Veteran’s Day parade – THANK YOU, VETS!!!) and lunch and dinner out for all of us, I’ve been scrambling to catch up with my weekend email. Seems everybody wants their book published by Christmas! I can’t believe there are only six weeks until Christmas! Ack! I’d planned to have my shopping finished by Thanksgiving. Ha ha ha! I haven’t even started! I think I’m going to see if Richard will take over ALL of the Christmas shopping, wrapping and shipping this year.
This Week’s Maxism:
Max came barging into the bathroom yesterday just after I’d finished my turn and was washing my hands. He plopped down on the toilet as I was leaving the bathroom and, as I shut the door, I heard him say, “Mmm! Thanks for making the seat warm, Mom!”
Hugs to all!
