One of the most frustrating parts about selling the house has been the buyers’ realtor, who appears to be either lazy, disorganized, clueless about her job, just plain unprofessional, or a combination of all of the above. After the initial contract, the inspections occurred quickly but we then had almost two weeks of no communication. Our realtor kept trying to keep things moving but the other realtor was “too busy” one day, “tired” another day, and “boating” on yet another day. Finally, the final deal came together. That was a week and a half ago.
We’ve been waiting since then for a date for the appraisal. We don’t want to start removing decor and furnishings until the after the appraisal because the house looks much nicer furnished as opposed to vacant. We had an appraisal done when we first put it on the market and it came out higher than we expected. But, the house was decorated with beautiful ocean decor, sea glass, ocean-themed tapestries, and the starfish furniture. (Yeah, it might be a bit overboard but I love it!).
We have paid the security deposit and first month’s rent on the new place but we’re afraid to sign the actual lease until we know when we can actually move. We’ve already scheduled the movers for June 1st and we’re hoping we don’t need to reschedule that. Closing is scheduled for June 10th.
So, that’s our quandary for this week. The cabinets and closets are all empty but the rest of the house is fully furnished and decorated. Very frustrating… :-/
