We left for our annual trek to Tennessee on Saturday. We usually break the drive into three separate days because Mason (age 10) gets antsy if he’s stuck in the back seat for more than five hours at a time.
We arrived at the cabin on Monday afternoon. We usually stay in the cabin for around 10 days, and we only leave on one or two days to do some touristy stuff. But, this year, we’ve packed in many more recreational and educational activities. We’ll be visiting the Titanic Museum, like we do each year (it’s the boys’ favorite) and we’ll also be hiking, visiting a cavern, and taking a private tour of a local winery that Richard arranged. Each year, Richard cooks gourmet meals each day in the cabin (God bless him!), and pairs the dinners with fine wines. Needless to say, we did NOT pack the bathroom scale…
We’ll have plenty of quiet time in the cabin, too. We definitely don’t venture into Gatlinburg on the weekends because that place is packed with tourists this time of year.
While all our vacations are working vacations, it’s nice to have a change of scenery. Here are a few pics:
