This time of year, most of us are feeling ambitious and thinking about ideas for new books we want to write. It always happens to me, too. New Year’s Day = New Book Ideas! I can’t help it. They come spilling out of my brain faster than I can process them. In fact, I have a “book ideas” folder in my email box. It’s filled to the brim with ideas for books that I will never, ever have time to write.
Rather than letting my ideas languish for eternity, I thought I’d share them with you here. If you, too, have a pile of book ideas that you’ll never use, and want to give other authors a creative boost, please send your ideas to me here and I’ll post them next week. If you have any humorous book ideas (i.e. How to Read a Book), I’d love to see and post those, too!
Here are a few of mine:
An Eye for an Eye
Real stories about revenge that eventually came back to haunt the avenger.
Mental Health Food
Twist that any way you want.
A series of books that offer readers insight into something they’d probably want to know more about – i.e. Confessions of a Used Car Salesman, Confession of a Mortgage Broker, Confessions of a Meat Packer… You get the picture.
Anthology of Imaginary Friend stories
True stories of people who completely changed their lives to live their dream
