Monster Update and a New “Baby” in the Garden!

Max and I were supposed to be extras in a movie scene being shot last Sunday. Max was pretty bummed when we received an email on Friday morning alerting us that filming of the candy store scene was postponed indefinitely. However, he got to see the “real” Thomas the Train that afternoon in Boothbay Harbor so he bounced back pretty quickly.

On Saturday, we went on a whale-watching tour with author WirelessTrips.com while on the road. Monday is our scheduled day of departure. This is the trip we were supposed to take in May, before Richard dislocated and broke his ankle.

Here’s the “Monster” update for this week. He’s growing about one inch in diameter per day.

AND WE HAVE BIG NEWS!!! A new baby has been born in the garden and, whoa, what a “Baby” he is! Mason named this one “Punk.” Here’s Punk on Day 1 (the day we discovered him) and Day 10. His diameter is only three inches smaller than Monster’s right now so we’re hoping he’s a giant pumpkin in the making! Whoo hoo!!!

I have another Masonism for you this week.

I ordered a new rug for the boys’ room and it arrived last week. After we unwrapped it, Max jumped on it, saying, “Mason! It’s a magic carpet! Let’s go!”

Mason (age 4) didn’t quite understand what Max was doing until I explained you can go anywhere on a magic carpet if you use your imagination.
He then sat down in the middle of the rug, and said, “Okay, I want to go to the toy store.”

I replied, “Great! Now, close your eyes and imagine you’re flying on your magic carpet to the toy store.”

He closed his eyes for a second, promptly opened them back up, and said, “Mom…it’s not taking us anywhere.”

Hugs to all!

Angela
