Field Trip!

We have relatives in town again. Seems everybody wants to come visit us in Florida when there’s lots of snow on the ground up north. 😉

On Monday, we all went to the Mote Aquarium. We have been there once before but we didn’t see the sea lion show back then. We did this week and the boys LOVED it! There weren’t many people there so we had plenty of time to ask the volunteers lots of questions. Max and Mason loved the shark exhibit and they learned where seashells come from. They also got to see a baby skate that was alive but growing outside its egg casing. That was pretty cool!

On the way back to Bradenton, we hit the island traffic just past Long Boat Key (that means several miles from our turn-off) so we turned around and drove to Sarasota instead. Once there, my sweet tooth starting whining so Richard parked and we all took an organic ice cream break. We’d planned to visit a used bookstore when we were finished but it had closed by that time. So, we took 41 back to Bradenton and stopped at Books a Million where the boys got to choose one book each.

We were going to go bowling, too, but we were all pooped by then. On Tuesday, Ali took the in-laws shopping so we could get caught up on our work. Tomorrow night, we’re going fishing. Whoo hoo!

This week’s Masonism:

Since we had relatives coming into town, I bought the kids’ Valentine’s Day goodies a few days early. The items were on my desk that evening. I warned Mason to not look at the bags so he wouldn’t ruin the surprise. He responded, “I’m trying not to but my eyes keep making me look!”
