Why Are These Books Best Sellers?

Why Are These Books Best Sellers?

At, we have more than thousands print books on the market, and even more ebooks. There are two types of books that appear on the best seller list:

1. Brand new books by authors who haven’t yet tired of book promotion
2. Books by authors with aggressive, persistent marketing schedules and techniques

In the first example above, authors release their new book, promote it for a few weeks, and then grow tired of promotion (or run out of ideas), and either stop altogether, or move onto the next book. It’s a shame when this happens because the author already has a product to promote. And, if you don’t continue to promote a book, sales will stop.

In the second example, these are books by authors who promote their titles on at least a part-time basis. What are they doing right? Why are these books best sellers? Here are some examples:

1. Cancer-Free: Your Guide to Gentle, Non-toxic Healing (Fourth Edition) by Bill Henderson
Bill Henderson started researching alternative cancer treatments after chemo (not cancer) killed his wife. He continued to aggressively promote his book until he passed. His new wife now carries the torch. It has been the #1 bestseller on almost every single week for 11 years now. In addition to the website, there is an opt-in email list so subscribers can receive a free email newsletter. Bill also hosted a popular weekly radio show, which always resulted in impressive book sales.

2. The Potty Boot Camp: Basic Training for Toddlers by Dr. Suzanne Riffel
Suzanne also aggressively promotes her book through her website, her email newsletter, and on Twitter and Facebook. She has obviously note grown tired of her book and moved on. She capitalizes on the book she already has by continuing to promote it. Because of this, it continues to sell.

3. Karen Bishop – the author of seven books
Over the years, Karen Bishop created a huge, devoted following through her website and ezine. Her books all targeted the same audience so she could promote all of her books at once, whether through her website, book trailers, or her blog. Karen became so popular that some imposters popped up online over the years, pretending to be her. While Karen is now retired, her books are still selling well today!

4. Preferred Stock Investing by Doug K. Le Du
With the volatility of the stock market over the past year years, it seems those who didn’t get out completely were actively searching for advice. Enter Doug Le Du, who actively and continually promotes his book through his website, his free monthly newsletter, and his Preferred Stock Notification Service. He even offers an exclusive section of his website just for his subscribers. It’s always a great idea to make readers feel special! Doug never gives up on promoting his book and he continues to appear on the best seller list.

BookLocker understands what new authors experience, and have put together a package that is the best in the business. You can’t go wrong here. Plus, they’re selective and won’t publish any manuscript just because it’s accompanied by a check. Also, the web site is well trafficked. If you can find a POD or epublisher with as much integrity and dedication to selling authors’ books, but with lower POD publishing fees, please let me know.”
