Well, Percy came down with the illness Mittens has so we now know it’s “Kennel Cough.” They’re both doing much better. I just hope the other three cats don’t catch it, too. Ali’s really good at giving the animals their medicine. They fight me, but adore Ali so much that they’d let her pour anything down their throats…
We received a card in the mail from Federal Express early last week, sent to our P.O. Box, saying they had something for us. The card said they would return it in 7 days if we didn’t call them for delivery or go pick it up. The “from” line was written in squiggly handwriting and appeared to say “self counsel” but we couldn’t be sure. We’d never heard of that company, but the “counsel” part sure made us think it was from an attorney…

I had a few minutes to spare one summer day, so I dashed into a bookstore and made my way to the magazine racks. There I saw shiny colorful cover after shiny colorful cover. Each one beckoning “choose me”, “pick me”, “take me home”, “how about me?”.

Halloween is over and it was a truly wonderful and magical day. Max was almost able to keep up with the big kids this year and actually covered two entire blocks before he started dragging his feet and asked us to carry him back home. We’re now gearing up for Christmas shopping.
