Laptop Meltdown Leads to Day of Crafting!

I’m remaining pretty consistent with burning out a laptop about once every three years. I diligently back up my machine every single night and I double back up the accounting program info.

On Saturday morning, my laptop started making a high-pitched whining sound. We figured out pretty quickly it was the fan. Since it was three years old, we decided to run to Best Buy for a new one rather than risk a meltdown during repair. Richard then spent the entire day (and several hours into the night) transferring all my programs and files. The result was I got the entire day off on Saturday! I finished a tapestry I’d been working on for several months. It’s 3 feet wide by 2 feet high, which is why it took so long. It’s a yarn painting that I needle felted. Here’s a picture, in case you’re curious –

I started out manually felting it but, after my wrist started having problems, my new Addi-Quick arrived, and saved the day! The work went MUCH faster after that. To learn more about needle felting, contact my friend Patti McAleenan HERE. She has all the supplies you need in her store. (No, I don’t make anything at all by referring you to her. She’s just a great gal with awesome customer service.)

On Sunday, I was up bright and early, getting caught up on correspondence using my new laptop. I am SO blessed to have such a smart geek for a husband!

This Week’s Masonism:

While Mason was re-reading one of his favorite chapter books, he said, “Old books just keep getting better and better!”

He’s right!
