We got pretty nervous when Hurricane Rita was taking aim at the Texas coast last week. We’d already turned around and driven back to Maine when Hurricane Katrina hit and threatened the gas supply. We finally got up the nerve to venture out again, making it to Richard’s hometown in Wisconsin, and looking forward to heading down to visit my family and attend my reunion in Texas after that.
Even though the hurricane didn’t do the damage predicted, they still predicted gas prices of first $5/gallon, then $4 and then $3. Well, heck, we were paying almost $3/gallon on the way to Wisconsin anyway, so we’re proceeding with our itinerary. I just hope yet another hurricane doesn’t attempt to ruin our plans! I’ve posted some photos from our Wisconsin visit HERE.
Hugs to all!
