Turkey is Thawing!

This week’s issue is going out a day early because we figure most of you will be knee-deep in travel or family by this time tomorrow. Our big, fat turkey, which Ali bought on sale two weeks ago, had been thawing in the fridge for two days now.

Tonight, Richard’s dad and step-mom will be arriving. We’ll be feeding them lobster for dinner. Now, before you think that’s a splurge, remember that we live in Maine and lobster is super cheap up here! We can buy it fresh and cooked from an outfit up the road for $6-$7 per pound. Yummmmmm!!

We usually have Hoy Holiday on the Friday after Thanksgiving but we’ll be having it on Wednesday this year so everyone can participate (there were some potential scheduling conflicts this year because so many people are coming!). Hoy Holiday is when we all venture to the Christmas Tree farm together, choose and cut a tree, come home, decorate the house and tree, drink homemade hot chocolate, and then order pizza, sit around the TV together, and watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. It’s a great tradition and everybody is SO excited!

We all wish you and your friends and family in the U.S. a wonderful, safe, and gluttonous Thanksgiving! Of course, we wish our across-the-border neighbors a super weekend and well!

This week’s Maxism:

Max got some sea monkeys for his birthday and we just recently set up the tiny tank for him. When Max saw them for the first time after they hatched, he said, “They look like little sperms!”

Hugs to all!
