No Rest for the Snow Weary

March 1st dawned dreary for us with yet another snowstorm. We’ve had more than 93 inches this season so far. More snow and ice is expected later this week and we’re starting to wonder if we’ll be able to dig the RV out in time for our next trip! Hopefully, the temps will rise a bit and give us some meltage by the end of the month. It looks like the kids might be hunting for Easter Eggs in the snow again this year. Ah, that’s a far cry from the shorts and tanktops we used to wear on Easter in Texas!

We spent the weekend at The Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, Maine. They have two restaurants and a large indoor pool. The room was wonderful, the staff was perfect, the food was divine and the atmosphere was warm and cozy, despite the snowstorm outside. If you’re ever near Freeport, Maine, stay there!

I wanted to give you all an update about my friend, “G.” She is in a rehab hospital now and, not only is she talking and regaining her memory, but she has even taken a couple of steps! And, after doctors expressed doubt she would ever be able to eat solid food again, she is indeed eating! Her sister tells me she is making remarkable progress. She even says she’s mentally at about 80% of what she was, and her sense of humor has returned, too.

From heart attack to coma to almost-removed-from-life-support, to waking up and talking and then taking steps and regaining her memory, my dear friend has has experienced more blessings than many of us can count… all because of the prayers she was blessed with from my WritersWeekly friends and others. So, thank YOU again!

This week’s Maxism:

Last week, Max made this observation: “All moms are girls.”
