Zach recently moved into his own place (sniff). While shopping at a craft store over the weekend, Ali and I found some adorable (snicker), furry toy rats in the Halloween section. They looked so real! I thought one would be perfect for Zach’s new place. Heh…
On Saturday, we swung by his place on the way to a family luncheon. I let him to step out of his room in front of me while I pretended to be tidying up a bit. I removed the rat from my pocket, and placed him strategically behind Zach’s door. The only downside was I wouldn’t be there when he discovered it.
It took two whole days but Zach finally asked, “Hey, Mom, did you put a rat in my room?”
I tried to keep a straight face as I replied, “I’m not sure what you’re talking about?”
He grinned and said, “That thing scared the (bleep) out of me! Then, I couldn’t figure out why it was standing so still so I threw my belt at it.”
After a good laugh, he says he passed along the favor by putting the rat in one of his roommates’ rooms. Our boy does a mother proud!
This week’s Maxism:
I gave Max a homemade chocolate chip cookie and a hug, saying, “This one’s made with extra love!”
He got a funny look on his face and replied, “They sell love at the store???”
Hugs to all!
Angela
