I was notified last week by an author who wants to publish his future books with BookLocker. His previous books were published by Five Star Publishing. He said he’d heard they were closing.
I did some digging and, sure enough, they are. This article was published by Thorndike Press. Five Star appears to be one of Thorndike Press’ imprints. They tout the fact that Five Star published “award winning original Western literature” but that clearly didn’t keep them in business. Thorndike says they’ll be focusing on large print publishing…which I guess is making them more money than Westerns.
This is just another example of how things are rapidly changing in the traditional publishing world. Five Star Publishing was in business for 27 years. What a shame.

HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT SELF-PUBLISHING A BOOK?
a self-publishing services company that has been in business since 1998. Ask her anything.
Awsome article and straight to the point. I don’t know if this is truly the best place to ask but do you folks have any thoughts on where to employ some professional writers? Thanks in advance 🙂
