Hello Angela,

Thank you for sharing the information about America Star Books.

I, too, had a bad experience with ASB. I was able to break the contract before they went out of business. However, my book is still advertised on Amazon Children’s Books, with all of the previous information, pricing, etc.

At this time, I would like to republish the book. However, Amazon stated that they cannot remove the old advertisement since it was posted by an outside source (even though they went out of business).

Would you have any suggestions of how I can proceed?

Submit a copyright infringement notice to Amazon. Since that firm no longer has the right to sell your book, they are violating your copyright.

Don’t explain to Amazon that they were your previous publisher, etc. That will only make Amazon tell you to contact them, which is now impossible.

Simply tell Amazon the firm is violating your copyright, and does not have permission to sell your book.

    Amazon will ignore the notice that they are violating his copyright. I have been sending Amazon copyright violation notices for over 3 years and each notice is met with a “tell me which books are in violation” request which they also ignore after they receive the information requested.

    Amazon is also sending me 1099’s on which I have to pay tax while they refuse to pay me for the books they have sold.
