Cyn Mobley is the best writing instructor I've ever had. Her ability to get to the heart of a problem is amazing. Writers are by nature creative and full of extraneous ideas that lead down dead end paths. Cyn's structure provides a clear map through the novel's maze. She involves herself in each writer's work and makes suggestions that enhance it. If I'd encountered Cyn Mobley earlier, I would have been spared years of wandering in the maze. - Ann Simpson I completed Nanowrimo last year and am still trying to get that first draft ready to submit. If I had had Cyn Mobley's techniques before I began last year (like I will this year), I would probably already be submitting my book. Cyn's hands-on instructions are like an anchor in the churning sea of writing confusion. She shows how to gain control of chaotic words, strengthen characters and plot, and steer the whole story into the harbor of authorship. The benefits of her tutelage are great. I have been a writer for many decades but always willing to learn more. As a member of the Knoxville Writer's Guild, I thought a class being taught by Cyn Mobley might be interesting. It was more than interesting; it was a delight! Cyn conducts a fun class so that you don't want to miss anything. Besides, you are learning from a teacher who has been there" in the writing field and has many practical suggestions. I would encourage anyone who wants to learn more in the writing field to take one of here classes. "Having attended conferences all over the country you can imagine my surprise when I found the best writing teacher right here in Knoxville TN. If you want to know what it takes to be a successful wrtier, then listen to Cyn." ------- About The Class: Work One-on-One with a Bestselling Author to get your manuscript in shape! * (NANOWRIMO writers, this is perfect for you!) Unpublished? It's not entirely your fault. Most of what you've been taught about writing is wrong. You don't need another self-help writing group of other unpublished novelists. You need to know what professional writers have learned the hard way. You need to know what insiders know about getting published. You need a coach. You need someone to show you in your manuscript what works and what doesn't. In this class, we're going to structure, focus, refine and plot your novel or nonfiction book. I'll personally review your loglines, outlines and query letter to make sure you're on track. At the end of six weeks, you'll walk away with the essential elements of a dynamite query letter and a complete plan for finishing your manuscript. The course includes the ebooks: BAM: Book a Month and BAM: Advanced Fiction Techniques. For the last twelve years, I've made my living writing under a variety of names. I've written for most of the major publishers in New York, been on the USA Today bestseller list and written more than thirty novels. I've also sold a number of nonfiction manuscripts. I'm also the acquisitions editor for a few small press imprints. I know how it all works and what publishers want. We'll start by hammering out your story and logline and going through your three act structure. We'll move on to discussing pacing, movement and reader identification and specific techniques that work for bestselling authors. Then I'll look specifically at your entire mss and talk to you about what works and what doesn't. The class is not about grammar or punctuation. It's not about copy edits or spelling. It is about structure and story flow. It is about building a strong commercial novel a publisher would buy. This class is limited to 20 authors. Classes are delivered via podcast (audio files that are available at the instructor's website). You will also receive emails from the instructor containing examples of the material covered.
