Gearing up for Christmas!
printable version
Thanksgiving was a hoot and we're now admiring each other's distended mid-sections. Heh...
Now, we're gearing up for Christmas. Well, okay, we're already in the throes of it. Last Friday was Hoy Holiday. Each year, on the day after Thanksgiving, we go get our Christmas Tree at the local Christmas Tree farm. We then drag it home and all the girls laugh while the guys try to make it stand upright. We then pull the Christmas decorations out of the attic, decorate the whole house, inside and out, drink lots of hot chocolate, eat frozen pizza (don't worry - we cook it first) and then sit around the TV together that night watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
For the yard this year, I tried to come up with an idea that would at least equal, if not beat, our Halloween yard decorations. We decided to create a snow-mommy surrounded by naughty snow children. The snow-mommy is me and she's nursing her baby, who is Mason. She is surrounded by Max (who is pottying icicles into the yard), Frank (who is throwing a snowball into oncoming traffic), and Zach (who is pointing a hair dryer at his sister Ali). I got the idea for that last one from Calvin and Hobbes. You can see photos of our snow people HERE.
I still have one last snowman to make, which will be Richard. He'll be sitting on the front porch steps, rolling his eyes while trying to ignore the mayhem.
This year, I'm terribly busy so I've enlisted Richard to help with the Christmas shopping, wrapping and shipping. I'll let you know how that goes...
This Week's Maxism:
"My stomach is so excited!"
Hugs to all!
