Holidays Coming Fast and Furious
printable version

This weekend, Matt and Aubri were home so we had a fun time with them. Aubri is always a huge help with the baby and Matt and Aubri both helped put up a new storm door. Things got a bit confusing and Aubri's dad had to come over and save the day. They'll be home for a whole week for Thanksgiving so all the children are excited about that.

I got a pretty good start on my Christmas shopping last weekend. Grandpa and Granny Rita will be here for Christmas this year, along with Matt and Aubri, so it's going to be a very merry holiday (and a very full house!) for us all this year. We're putting up our decorations next weekend and will get our tree on the weekend after Thanksgiving. Time sure seems to be speeding by this month!

This week's Maxism: Max hasn't yet learned the concept of time (i.e. 60 minutes = 1 hour, 7 days = 1 week). I was trying to explain to him that Thanksgiving is next week and Christmas is in six weeks. And, despite the fact that I bought him two books about the Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving, he doesn't remember the holiday from last year. He's got Christmas down pat, but Thanksgiving and some other holidays are still a bit fuzzy for him.

This morning, he once again asked, "When is Thanksgiving?"

I patiently replied, "Next week."

He smiled and said, "Good. I like the bunny."

Hugs to all!
Ang
