Short Escape Before the Storm

We love snow around Christmastime but, once January’s frigid temperatures set in and we are all homebound for weeks on end, the snow starts to get old really fast. On our Friday night date, I told Richard it would be fun to get away for a couple of days. Within half an hour of us arriving home that night, he had made reservations for us at a hotel in Portland for the weekend. The next afternoon, we were on our way! Let me tell ya….that’s the best part of being self-employed. You can just take off when cabin fever gets to be a bit too much to bear.

As I’m writing this on Tuesday morning, we are on our way back to Bangor with another winter storm right on our heels. We’ll stock up on essentials this evening just in case we can’t leave the house for a couple of days. And, of course, the kids are all praying for a snow day tomorrow! 🙂

I have a Masonism for you this week:

“I’ll puff, and fluff, and blow your house down!”

Hugs to all!
