Fall’s Last Hurrah!

Our good friends Scott and Kelly left last Wednesday. On Thursday, we packed up the RV and drove to the KOA in Bar Harbor for one last Fall hurrah. The leaves were exquisite and the town was packed with leaf watchers and cruise ship travelers. There were two large cruise ships parked off the coast and the town of Bar Harbor was more crowded than we’d ever seen it. We didn’t mind. The air was brisk, a harsh wind was blowing leaves down the streets, and the food there is always top-notch! We had a GREAT time!

Our daughter, Ali, who works in Bar Harbor on the weekends right now, sent me a text on Saturday morning that said, “I’ve never seen this many people here!” She ended up working a 12-hour shift that day, and loved every minute of it.

We packed up the RV once again on Tuesday morning before heading back to Bangor, preparing it to be winterized. It’s already getting down in the upper 30’s here at night. We’re leaving on January 1st for Key West but we won’t be able to de-winterize it until we get far enough south that long-term freezing temperatures won’t be a threat.

I have a Masonism for you this week.

When we arrived in Bar Harbor, we were delighted to have a beautiful view of the water while also being tucked in the forest. Max and Mason quickly put on their shoes and jackets, and Mason yelled, “Let’s play!!!”

I laughed, asking, “What are you going to play?”

Mason replied, “Sasquatch!”

Hugs to all!
