HINTS: "I am receiving many articles twice as long as I can use in my format. This forces me back to the writer to say you cut half or I cut half. Almost any article suffers with that much editing so I encourage writers to narrow the focus from the beginning. Also, consider the mission of the magazine: Although written primarily for a Catholic audience, articles deal more with school administration and teaching methodology than with religion. I don't cover what may or may not be wrong with public schools but I receive a lot of pitches for those types of articles."
