Dear Angela,

I have been out of state for a while, but wanted to send you a ‘Thank you’ for the Spring Contest.

I was generously awarded second place in the contest and it was so exciting for me when I received the news. It really inspired me to keep on writing and I appreciate the opportunities you are giving to writers to get their foot in the door in some way.

This was a big deal for me, and I wanted to say a big ‘Thank you!’
