Is This Industry A Swamp For Scams?

Angela, I drop by from time-to-time, just to see if the industry has improved. Afraid once again it seems the environment is dangerous and a swamp for scams (no pay, copyright theft, mauling of submissions to 'publishers'). I once thought things were pretty settled as to how book publishing works, but it is still the wild west. Makes you wonder how those big name guys actually succeed.
