About the Book
Twenty writers attending The Write Retreat at Stanford Sierra Camp collectively present over forty works of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Initiated by a Stanford Alum in 2007, The Write Retreat is a three-day golden opportunity to hone writing skills, jump-start long-imagined writing projects and collaborate with learned faculty and fellow writers in the serenity of Fallen Leaf Lake near Lake Tahoe, California.

The momentum has continued each year with a mix of returning and new teachers and students. In 2009, the oft-raised subject of “getting published” was more ardently addressed. Quixotic yet dedicated volunteers manifested their desire for expression in the form of this anthology. Within, authors whose ages span five decades offer their insights, experiences and creativity. From humorous anecdotes of childhood to endearing tales of final days, this anthology speaks boldly of life.

Profits from the sale of this book support scholarships for young authors to attend The Write Retreat.
