Explaining Kill Fees
printable version

Dear Angela,

I love your web site. I am always eager to read your newsletter. I appreciate your taking the time to answer my question in my last email.

About kill fees, some publications don't offer them. What happens to my article if they decide to kill it. Do I get it back, whether they are paying a kill fee or not? Can I publish it somewhere else?

Sincerely,
G.A.

If a publication does not accept (rejects) your article, whethey they offer a kill-fee or not, yes, you still own all rights and can do with the article what you want.
